A little about CPI

CPI is the Language school I’m going to.  They’ve organized our whole trip and its pretty awesome.  We have a “chaperone” with us for everything.  Her name is Sonia and shes about 27.  She learned Spanish at CPI for 3 months and then decided to become a chaperone. She goes with us for all our trips and visits in case we need help with anything.  CPI helped Dr. Powell set up the entire itinerary for our trip.  They organized it with the schools here for us to come in and decided what days we would do what. So Sonia is there for everything.  Its great because otherwise we’d be lost and they’d be looking to me to talk to people lol.  I know the most Spanish out of everyone.  CPI also set up our homestays and provides us with travel everywhere. Its pretty great because everything is set up for us.  We don’t have to figure out how much it is to go to a museum or what times they are open, we have already paid for it all.  And if we want to change anything, Sonia is there. When lunch is included, Sonia takes our orders in the van and it is ready when we arrive at our location.  She is also there to take pictures of everything which is great.  Otherwise group pictures would be nonexistent.  She’s also been in our shoes as a Spanish learner and is still learning so we can see how she struggles but finds a way to communicate. CPI also set us up with some great Guides.  For most of our trips, like to Manuel Antonio national forest, Poas Volcano and La Paz Waterfall Garden, we had a guide named Javiar with us.  He has been great about answering all our questions and pointing out new things.  We learn a lot from him.  CPI is where we have our Spanish classes and they work to put us in the right class It’s a pretty nice set up and has allowed us to do SO much.  Truly though, we are very scheduled and free time is not abundant but its such a great experience.
